This presentation models truly engaging with Truth and Reconciliation by addressing Residential Schools, historical and contemporary legal contexts, and creative works. We integrate a wide range of voices and media, unpacking text and context of students and instructors as readers.
Amber and Naomi are both English teachers with the Burnaby School District. They are settlers who share a passion for Indigenizing and decolonizing the curriculum to help move towards reconciliation. They hope to better equip teachers to address the requirements of the current curriculum.
