This session is organized into three parts: Creating a culture of wonder, Initiating and Implementing Literature Circles, and thoughtful assessment. Educators will learn theory (based on Faye Brownlie’s “Literature Circles”) and understand strategies for successful implementation with a variety of learners

  • Nicole Wilson

    Nicole Wilson is a grade 4/5 teacher in Burnaby. She has been teaching for 13 years. She has a passion for all things literacy and SEL. She has offered a variety of book clubs and sessions for educators in Burnaby, including, a series on Literature Circles, Social Emotional Learning, Learning in Depth, and Assessment. She loves to learn and to share her passion for learning with others. 

  • Tanis Anderson

    Tanis Anderson is the District VP for Early Learning in New Westminster. She has also been an Education Assistant, classroom teacher, Literacy Helping Teacher, and Program Consulatant.  Tanis works with K-12 educators on creating meaningful learning experiences where all students feel success and belonging.
